Batman: The Dark Knight Rises is set to appear on DVD/Blu-Ray format Tuesday, December 4, 2012. The third and final movie in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy will be available in a variety of formats including a Blu-Ray/DVD Combo Pack, DVD only single pack and a collector’s edition that includes a Batman Cowl. This collection is sure to be on the Christmas List of many home theater enthusiasts and a welcome addition to any home video library.
The Caped Crusader has been the subject of many movies over
the years, and best-to-worst lists are as numerous as Batman fans. Ranker.com
has a comprehensive list that includes both live action and animated movies
taken from fan surveys. Bryan
Lomax also has a great list on IMDB, the Internet Movie Database. These
movies do not just appeal to comic book fans, as the innovative sound design
and cinematography also makes them a favorite with home theater owners. Many of
the Batman movies bear this out with multiple
Oscar nominations, and some have even taken home the little golden statue.
Tim Burton’s original Batman (1989) took home the Oscar for Best Art Direction,
and Batman: The Dark Knight (2008) won Oscars for Sound Editing and Best
Supporting Actor (for Heath Ledger’s brilliant portrayal of the Joker).
Whether you have your very own customized
Bat Cave Home Theater, or just enjoy watching movies in the family room,
the home video release of Batman: The Dark Knight Rises is sure to be welcome
news this holiday season.
